Can I offer you a sarcastic retort?
"I want to apologize. I'm not even confident on which end that came out of."
This is one of those days that I need a good laugh.
Like a hearty one.
With some snorting.
Like a hearty one.
With some snorting.
Days like today are exhausting for one reason and one reason only:
They just. never. END.
Fun fact about me: on days like this [I have no idea why] I always think back to stupid things that I've said or done in the past. Like, way in the past. I cannot figure out why [don't you try, either. It's a never-ending battle].
So it's as if I'm trying to make my day worse.
So it's as if I'm trying to make my day worse.
You are correct, friend. It makes no sense what-so-ever.
In an attempt to distract myself from this non-nonsensical habit, I'm writing a blog. Due to the nature of my mood, please expect this blog to be saturated in sarcasm [as it typically is when I'm cranky].
And even if what I'm saying isn't sarcastic at all, it's sure to be spoken in your head in a sarcastic tone.
This weekend brought us to Topeka again. Friday night was the Royal's game with all of our friends.
[Pictures compliments of Nicka]
I was up until the wee hours of the night because a bunch of our pals came to Adam & Nick's to hang after the game.
So needless to say; I didn't race all that well the next day.
It was painful, actually.
See those clouds?
Yeah, that was the front that came through and delayed the race for an hour.
But it cleared up.
And we crawled through the mud anyway.
Total time: 56:40
Pretty much spot on with last year's time.
We wanted to beat that time, but we didn't.
Here are my excuses:
1) I was dead tired
2) We rode out a storm, under a tent, with high winds & rain. Oh, and 64 degree temperatures.
3) Lack of motivation due to #2
4) It was early. (okay, that doesn't really count. All races are early)
Actually, I don't even need an excuse; mostly because not a lot of people run in races, so I have that.
Saturday afternoon we relaxed at the pool again with Mr. Liam. It was so nice to sit down and relax in the sun. The guys were shooting so I got to shoot a target.
I pretty much rocked at that. I hit the target with all 9 rounds. AND I hit the red. Twice.
I'm kind of a big deal.
Doug: "What were you a sharpshooter in a past life?"
If I told you, I'd have to kill you.
Shortly after, we all went home to get pretty & head to Katie & Matt's wedding reception.
Um...funnest time ever.
Seriously, had the most fun I've had in a looong time.
Megh has pictures on her camera of that, so check in with her blog to see those.
Sunday, we came home.
Started another week.
And here we are.
Back to square one.
Guess what?
This weekend, I'm staying home. Home.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
Sleep the entire time?
Stare at a wall?
Whatever it is, I just know the clown car is going to appreciate a much-needed rest.
As am I.
Farewell my friends. I am off to make this day go by quicker.
Wish me luck.

The pics from the race look fun, and even if you didn't beat your time from last year I think it's pretty awesome that you even do the race to begin with...sooooo yeah! lol Also, I so wish Alex and I could have been at the Royals game with you all. I'm sure it was a blast! Plus getting to see all of the celebs was probably pretty flippin amazing!
