Lazy Sunday
I found this site because the GM at our store in Salina uses it to show pictures of her family to everyone that lives far away. I figured since I lived far away from pretty much everyone I knew, that I could do that to show pictures of our house, holidays, etc. and let everyone know what's going on in the life of Matt and Mallory (usually not anything too exciting!).
For those of you who don't know, I moved to Salina in August and Matt moved here in June to start working for his Dad at the McDonald's here (his Dad owns 4). I currently work at the office for his Dad and Mom. I have a wide range of jobs like keeping up the website (www.McDonaldsofSalina.com), doing the monthly newsletter, and holding orientations. Matt is currently an assistant Manager and is training to become a General Manager.
Matt and I closed on our first house on December 5th and got moved in and completely settled before Christmas rolled around. The house has 3 bedrooms, (no basement). We got new carpet a few days after we closed and got the entire house painted in one weekend (thanks to the help of family and friends!). Dad got our TV hung on the wall (thanks Dad!) and all of the cords hidden, and it looks really nice above the fireplace! I gave Matt the difficult task of "customizing" the entertainment center I just had to have, so he spent a good 5 hours putting that together. What a man! We've had so much help getting started in this house and we're super grateful to have such great families to help us.
I finish up school this May (Business Administration), which I'm terribly excited about. Matt finished up his Bachelor's degree in Psychology this past may at KU.
Matt and I have set our wedding date for October 3rd. My Mom has practically become a professional wedding planner during this process and we've got pretty much everything booked that we need to. Mom and I met with the photographer yesterday to see what he had in mind for us. It turned out that he's done quite a few weddings so he knew exactly what we needed to do to get everything organized for the big day. Mom and I's goal for the wedding is to make it as chaotic-free as possible!
We've had a busy 2008, and hopefully 2009 will be as exciting as we're expecting. We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a great beginning of 2009!
