Busy Bee

Oh. Em. Gee.

I have been SUPER busy. It's been fabulous.
After
finally finishing the Marketing Training Monstrosity that my company provided for me to read, I started trying to saturate the Salina community with info on our business. [congratulations to me, I'm using marketing vocab - i.e. 'saturate']

So far I have been to approximately one million-billion [this happens to be Matt & Mal vocab; we made this an official word on tuesday night] retirement homes & communities, as well as foot care clinics, family practitioner's offices, cardiologists - you name it, I've probably been there.
Save for pediatrics.
But we didn't figure they'd have much interest in our programs.

Anyway, so I gave my FIRST presentation today, which I made short & sweet. But I chatted it up with the ladies that attended and they were very interested in our services, so I think we might've grabbed their attention! I also brought homemade cookies and made a little sign that said "Homemade Cookies: baked with the same love & care that our company will provide to you!" Tear.

My schedule is actually filling up.
No seriously.

I have a calendar and everything. And it has stuff on it. So if someone calls and asks to meet with me, I get to say "no, sorry, my schedule is full".
Unfortunately, most likely the one person that calls and wants to meet with me [because usually it's the other way around] will ask for a day where I have nothing going.
In which case I will pause, say "I need to look at my calendar", pause again, and reply with "I can do it at 10", even though we both know I probably had nothing going that day except cold-calling foot clinics.
[more marketing vocab "cold-calling" - pay attention; there will be a test at the end of this blog]

I have dragged Matt to 3, count it THREE networking events this week alone. For those of you who don't know Matt all that well, you should know; Matt's uncomfortable in any situation that involves..
1) People he doesn't know
2) Talking to people he doesn't know
&
3) No beer.

Fortunately, 2 of the 3 events did involve beer; however, all three of them involved people he didn't know and talking to those people.
Somehow we survived, and I met some great people, so it was all worth it!

Yesterday, me and the rest of the ladies from the office went to the blood drive to escort folks from their chairs to the dining area, as well as handing out bags for the blood. Here's a pic of all of us:

Moral of the story: I LOVE my new job. And the people I work with are fabulous! Such sweet ladies!!!

I must go because my break is over, but I hope you all are having a great day, and just think; tomorrow's Friday!!!

Rock-A-Chalk,
Mal & Matt
