BOOOOOOOO!
Yesterday was my "get stuff done" day.
I got a lot of stuff done.
Nothing fancy, but trust me when I say that these are an improvement.
After finally finishing that project [which was more than I thought since we had to Spackle & paint the spots from the "ugly" curtains' remains] we went out with some old friends to the Renaissance Cafe in Assaria. The food was delightful as was the company.
Today, we woke up and have been lazy. We're currently watching the Chiefs game, and finally got our pumpkins carved.
Can you guess which is mine?
I did that free-hand, people.
The K is leaning a little, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it was a successful pumpkin carving experience.
Matt had a few issues...
Uh, huh. Sure.
So then, he started outlining his "cat" stencil, but he decided that one would be too difficult for him to pull off. So he moved on to just a jack-o-lantern one.
He got a little too anxious pulling out the spare pumpkin and accidentally pulled an eye out.
Nearly throwing in the towel, he picked up the pumpkin & headed toward the door with every intention of throwing it across the yard.
Rude.
But I, being the experienced pumpkin-carver, threw out a simple solution:
toothpicks
Toothpick that darn eye back in, and alas: good as new!
All was well, and we finished with our heads held high.
I did, anyway. Matt's currently napping, so I get the feeling that he wasn't as excited about this project as I was.
Annnnnyway, so we're going to go to Applebee's for lunch, because we're fancy like that.

I had every intention of sleeping in until 9 am, at the very least.
That didn't happen.
7:30 rolled around and my internal clock was beeping louder than ever.

So, I took advantage of the early rising and rode my bike to the Y. When I got home, I figured I should probably clean the house while I had the chance, and cross laundry off the list, too.
Those two were the ones I was looking forward to the least, but I got 'em done.
In the midst of the cleaning, I was looking at the blinds that covered our sliding glass doors and concluded that they were ugly.
I don't have any "before" pictures, but I replaced them with these:

Using this as an excuse, he said that I had to get the pumpkin gunk out of his because "my hands are smaller". Uh, huh. Sure.

Sounds like a great day! Your pumpkins are fabulous and Matt I am sorry that you are a little pumpkin carving challenged! Yours does look very nice too! Its always nice to have a productive weekend! Enjoy your fancy lunch out!
